Garden Salad

This has become a staple food at my place. There is not a day when we don't have it. It might sound too boring and routine. The truth is the crunchiness of the fresh vegetables and the fact that we are half filling our stomach with healthy stuff everyday before a meal makes us feel good. It is always said, you must have a bowl of salad when you head to a party to avoid overeating. Try this salad. It is filled with the goodness of broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, olives, sweet corn, baby corn and a little of olive oil and salad dressing

Preparation Time : 20 minutes
Serves : 3

Ingredients

Broccoli - 1 flower
Carrot - 1 big
Cucumbers - 2
Tomato - 1
Onion - 1 big
Sweet corn - 1 small cup
Baby Corn - 3 steamed
Pitted Olives -  7
Salt - To taste
Olive oil - 1 tbsp
Salad Dressing - 2 tbsp

Procedure

1. Wash and separate the broccoli into bite size florets.
2. Boil water with a little salt
3. Once the water boils, drop the broccoli florets in the hot water that has been simmered.
4. After a minute, switch off the stove and close the vessel for another minute
5. Drain the water and wash the broccoli in cold water.
6. Put them in a serving bowl.
7. Chop the other vegetables into bite size cubes
8. Steam the sweet corn and the baby corn.
9. All all the ingredients to the broccoli and give a quick, thorough mix.
10. Serve immediately.

Note: It is advised not to cut the broccoli and keep for too long. It is believed to lose its nutrition very fast. So plan and make immediately.
