This theeka / spicy chutney is added to most of the street food preparations and is very tasty. There are many versions of this chutney but I like this recipe which my mom used to prepare.
Preparation Time : 15 minutes
Cooking Time : 10 minutes
Servings: About 350 ml of Chutney
Ingredients
Coriander leaves - 3 cups packed
Tamarind - 1 small lemon sized ball
Jeera - 1 1/2 tsp
Red chillies - 2 / 3
Jaggery - 1 - 2 tbsp
Salt - To taste
Procedure
1. Wash well and drain the coriander leaves.
2. Grind it along with the other ingredients into a smooth paste.
3. You could add a dash of lemon if you like. It tastes good even without that.
4. Freeze the chutney and use as required.
