Chakkai Pradaman / Thengaai paal payasam




Preparation Time : 20 minutes
Cooking Time : 40 minutes
Serves : 2

Ingredients

Jackfruit pieces / broken wheat can be used for this type of payasam – 1 cup
Coconut milk – ½ cup thick milk and ½ cup each of 2nd and 3rd milk(2nd and 3rd milk means more water is added while grinding the coconut and the milk is thinner)
Ghee – 1tbsp
Jaggery – 1 cup

For seasoning
Elaichi powder – to taste
Cashew roasted in ghee

Procedure

1. Sauté the jackfruit pieces in ghee for two to three minutes.
2. Dissolve the jaggery with little water and when it begins to boil add the jackfruit pieces / pressure 
cooked broken wheat.
3. Cook till the raw smell of jaggery is gone. 
4. Add the 3rd coconut milk.
5. After cooking for 2 minutes, add the 2nd milk, cook for further two minutes.
6. Finally add the first milk and turn off the flame.
7. Add elaichi powder and roasted cashew.
