Vella Aval



Lord Krishna loves beaten rice or aval. Sudama took this while going to meet Krishna after many years. Krishna longed for this beaten rice meal from Sudama.

Preparation Time : 45 minutes
Cooking Time : 20 minutes
Serves: 2
Ingredients
 
Medium Poha – 1 cup
Powdered Jaggery – 3/4th Cup
Ghee – 2 tsp
Grated coconut – 2 spn
Powdered Cardamom – 1 tsp
Cashews roasted in ghee – 2 tsp

Procedure 

1. Wash, drain and let the poha soak for ½ hour
2. Prepare jaggery syrup ( when it boils, a drop of Jaggery dropped in a bowl of water should form a ball 
    when touch with hands and not dissolve)
3. Put the poha in the jaggery syrup along with cardamom and coconut and mix well. Add the ghee. 
4. When it becomes dry, add the roasted cashwes. 
5. Perform neivedyam and enjoy this aval
