Dahi Puri

In the endless list of favourite chat items, here is Dahi Puri. This not so spicy chat is liked by many because of the taste of curd which we cannot do without. Our meal is never complete without curd, so no wonder people like this. The chilled curd and the flavours of cumin and coriander powder make this chat so very special.

Preparation Time : 10 minutes
Cooking Time : 10 minutes
Serves :2

Ingredients

Puri / Gol Gappa - 8 to 10 pieces
Moong sprouts - 5 tbsp
Potato - 2 small , boiled and peeled

Sweet Chat Chutney - to taste
Spicy Green Chat Chutney - to taste
Curd - 1/2 cup , chilled
Salt - to taste

Chilli powder - to taste (optional)
Cumin powder - 3/4 tsp
Coriander powder - 3/4 tsp

Nylon Sev - to taste (I like more on mine - so I don't specify quantity)
Coriander - 3 tbsp, finely chopped

Procedure

1. Arrange the puris on two plates with a hole made in the center
2. Chop the potato into slices / cubes to suit your liking.
3. Mix salt in curd and set aside
4. Mix the chopped potato, sprouts, chutneys and powders in a wide vessel. The chutneys should just coat the other ingredients and should not be too runny and soggy.
5. Put them into the hole in each puri carefully.
6. Top with fresh curd , a little more of chilli powder, cumin powder
7. Serve immediately garnished generously with coriander and nylon sev

Note:

1. You can always increase  / decrease the quantity of any of the ingredients to suit your taste.
2. I used to still substitute the sweet chutney with ketchup when I craved chat but did not have the mood / was lazy to make the chutneys. :-). Sometimes I end up satisfying myself using this quick cheat idea. It worked :-)
